My family is mostly from Newfoundland although I spent some of my childhood living in Ontario and Nova Scotia. I still have a soft spot for N.S in particular.
Bilingual (French and English)
My grandmother bred Toy Poodles. Dogs have always been an important part of our family whether they were purebred or mixed breed. We've had French Mastiffs, Standard Poodles, Yorkshire Terriers and mixed breeds. We've also had several cats of various breeds (including Persians, Himalayans and Rag Dolls) but also we've had turtles, hamsters, birds, rabbits and guinea pigs. I grew up in a home of animal lovers and really wouldn't want it any other way.
Unapologetic about the dog hair in the house. They live with us! Fluff balls and all. Life is easier if you just accept the fluff.
Advocating for responsible dog breeding and ownership is important to me. I spend a lot of time on the education piece with every phone call. I believe there is a value to continuously learning about one's breed of choice and being willing to change opinions or mindsets as new information becomes available.
Have served on the board for the Newfoundland All Breed Kennel Club as Director at Large and Secretary and currently am serving the Avalon Kennel Club as Vice President.

I grew up in St John's area. We had a dog growing up and lots of cats but the world of small dogs was very different for me.
I once told Lesleigh she couldn't buy anymore Cavaliers, so now I jokingly say she started making her own! I wouldn't have it any other way though as the experience has been so rewarding.
I'm an IT and am currently enjoying working from home so get to spend lots of time with our crew.
I'm a big gamer and am often found with at least some of the dogs down in the rec room playing a game.
Like Lesleigh, Cavalier health and responsible breeding practices are important to me and my interest is only ever to have healthy dogs and puppies. I spend a lot of time helping with the socialization piece with the puppies.
I enjoy showing our dogs and working on their training skills. There's so much fun to be had in building that bond with a dog. I'd recommend to anyone to at least try a class and see how you and your puppy like it.
Current President of the Avalon Kennel Club and I've served as Vice President of the Newfoundland All Breed Kennel Club and Newfoundland Athletic Dog Association. It is my honor to serve the dog community of our province as best as I can.
